Meet Pastor John Lopez and his wife, Nita!
​
John, a native of Southern California, brings a wealth of experience to his role as pastor, having been called into the gospel ministry in 1976 and ordained in 1986. With a master's degree in education and a doctorate in Baptist theology, John has served in various churches throughout California while also enjoying a career as an educator.
The Lopez family's journey to Tehachapi began with their involvement in the church's music ministry in August of 2016. Inspired by their love for the community, they relocated from Palmdale, purchasing a home less than a mile from the church. Members of the congregation eagerly anticipated the musical enrichment the Lopez's brought, alongside John's enjoyable sense of humor.

For John, the most fulfilling aspect of pastoral ministry lies in connecting with people and witnessing their transformation through Christ. With Nita by his side, a talented pianist and psychology graduate, they have built a church on love and care, reaching out to the community and fostering growth in all aspects of ministry.

John and Nita look forward to continuing expanding outreach efforts and creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and loved. Their commitment to building a thriving church community is underscored by their shared passion for music, community engagement, and family.
